Today I went with Shiran and Layla, and Layla's Mum, to see the New York Philharmonic play at the Barbican. It was absolutely amazing; Haydn, John Adams, Schubert and Berg, and two encores. The conductor had a really cool American accent, and really cool hair also. The orchestra was outstanding - huge numbers but played like a tiny ensemble. Apparently my violin teacher sang in a choir for John Adams, which I think is pretty awesome.
On the way home, we had an intense debate over world issues and concluded that trees are cool. Yes, that is the solution to all world crisis; debate about trees.
